to better my knowledge of our Co.
once I turned in the certificate proving completion of said coarse the
area supervisor denied the .50/hr cent raise and said the normal raise
is .25 cents/hr.
To make matters worse, the min. wage went up 2 weeks after I turned in
my certificate of coarse completion.
My raise still has not been applied in any form and now the area
manager said my pay rate will go from $7.31/hr to $7.75/hr
As far as I'm concerned, if I am simply given .25 cent/hr it should be
added to the current min. wage at the time of submission to the
payroll Dept. ($7.67 + .25=($7.92)
and if given the .50 cents/hr I was originally promised my new rate
would be $8.17
I have been working at this Subway sandwich shop since 03/14/2011.
From what I understand, many Subway stores will give their employees a
small raise once they learn the basics and become efficient at their
job.
I have not only done that in the past 10 months but have also learned
to close the store by my self and have done so regularly for the last
4-5 months.
Anyone who knows all that is involved in closing a Subway alone will
tell you it's worth a raise.
I am only asking for help getting what I was promised for completing
the online coarse. A .50 cent/hr raise.
One more thing to mention. We (employees) are required to clock out at
our scheduled time (to the minute) and keep working, even if it was a
busy day, in order to finish the tasks of each day.
When closing the store there are many things that can't be done until
the (we are open) sign is turned off. We are given 30 min. to complete
everything and that is not enough time, even for a seasoned veteran.
As far as I know, it is illegal to force employees to work after
clocking out. (yes/no)?
